Program Information

Primarily designed for junior hospitalists pursuing academic careers, AHA: Launching Your Career offers an ideal learning experience for those newer to academic medicine, transitioning into academic medicine, or looking to enhance their skills in the fundamentals.

Participants will have the opportunity to develop effective teaching techniques, understand the process of creating and disseminating scholarly work, and gain insight into promotion pathways within academic institutions. The course also focuses on cultivating meaningful mentor-mentee relationships and exploring the business drivers of healthcare.

AHA: Launching Your Career addresses the non-clinical competencies critical for success and job fulfillment, supporting the education and professional development of academic hospitalists.

Course Agenda

Throughout the course, attendees will engage in small-group breakout sessions tailored to their needs for maximum impact. There will also be opportunities for networking between both AHA cohorts and building meaningful connections with faculty members.

What to Expect

Attendees will be immersed in an interactive learning environment that includes didactic sessions, small-group exercises, and skill-building breakout sessions. Each day of learning will be led by distinguished clinician-educators, hospitalist-researchers, and clinical administrators, ensuring a personalized experience with a 1-to-10 faculty-to-student ratio.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided during all full days of the meeting and are included in the registration fee. Meal breaks provide additional networking opportunities for building connections with faculty and colleagues alike.
